Local Area Information
Wilmot is in Kenosha County, in the Chicago metro area. The community was named for the Wilmot Proviso, a congressional amendment which would have prohibited slavery in any territory acquired from Mexico.

Some Wilmot area attractions include the Wilmot Mountain Ski Lodge, Wilmot Speedway, and Kenosha County Fair.
